About the Owner Justin Kibbey

Raised right here in the Traverse City area, I grew up surrounded by the incredible beauty of Northern Michigan – the cherry orchards, the dunes, and the crystal-clear waters of Grand Traverse Bay and the countless inland lakes that make this place so special. This is home, and it always will be.

After graduating from Glen Lake High School, I headed up to Michigan Technological University in Houghton, where I earned degrees in both Engineering and Business. That combination of technical know-how and practical problem-solving has shaped everything I do.

When I bought my first house in downtown Traverse City, I dove head-first into remodeling it myself – tearing out walls, rewiring, replumbing, and turning a dated fixer-upper into a home we loved. That project lit a fire. Since then, I've remodeled several more homes, each one teaching me new skills and deepening my love for transforming spaces with my own hands.

I decided to turn that lifelong passion for DIY, engineering, and quality craftsmanship into a business. 45th Parallel Home Maintenance was born from a simple idea: bring honest, skilled, and thoughtful home maintenance services to the community I've always called home.

Today, my wife and I are raising our family here – teaching our kid to swim in the same lakes I grew up on, picking cherries in the summer, and enjoying bonfires under the same northern stars. Being part of this community isn't just business for me; it's personal. When I work on your home, I treat it with the same care I'd give my own – because in Northern Michigan, we're all neighbors.
